Soprano, Maria Janus, holds a Master of Music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Jane Randolph. She received her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance and Bachelor of Arts in English from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.

After graduating, Maria regularly performed with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus, Pocket Opera, and West Edge Opera in the Bay Area. Recent engagements include singing with the San Diego Opera Chorus, San Diego Master Chorale, Pacific Lyric Opera, and Sacra/Profana, as well as premiering new music with the Berkeley-based group Wild Rumpus. She was a teaching artist for two years with the non-profit, Music in Schools Today, leading musical theater and glee club programs for elementary schools in the Bay Area.

Now residing in North San Diego County, Maria maintains a private voice and piano studio in Oceanside, teaching all ages of students.
